Practice Update - Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Iris Dental is actively monitoring the situation of the coronavirus outbreak

At Iris Dental, our team’s highest priority is the safety and health of all our patients and staff at our practice.

We have always maintained high levels of cleanliness and infection control, and now we have accelerated these to extreme levels of sanitisation and infection control within our clinic.

We are following all the advice and recommendations given down by The Australian Dental Association and Australian Department of Health.

It is important that as a community, we work together to reduce the impact of this virus.

Please reschedule your appointment if you have:

  1. Had recent contact with another person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19.
  2. Returned from an overseas trip in the past 14 days.
  3. Any flu-like symptoms, including: cough, shortness of breath, fever or sore throat

If any of these apply to you, please reschedule and contact your GP for advice or visit the hospital for testing.

The new protocols that Iris Dental has implemented:

  • Increased usage of personal protective equipment (PPE), including standard level 2 surgical masks, eye protection and gloves;
  • Antibacterial wipe downs of all clinic surfaces;
  • Strict cleaning procedures after every patient;
  • Antibacterial hand sanitiser is available for all staff and patients;
  • Constant hygiene protocol reminders for staff and patients.

Anyone who is considered high-risk to the COVID-19 virus must stay at home in isolation.

Unfortunately, if the government orders all non-essential services to stop under, then our team will only be able to treat life threatening or rapidly deteriorating dental conditions.

However, through these uncertain times, it’s important to continue maintaining a healthy smile as it’s a part of your overall health and well being.

Skype and Zoom video conferencing:

If Iris Dental is unable to provide all dental services in clinic, we will be offering online appointments with our dentists over Skype or Zoom video conferencing services. These online consultations will allow us to give you dental advice and prepare future dental treatments.

During this time, if you require further information or support, please contact our friendly staff by clicking here, or by calling our clinic on (03) 9394 7877.
